Our team takes part in a variety of speech and debate events, with many members choosing to do both. For most speech events, a round has six competitors who are ranked and evaluated by their presentation, clarity, speaking ability, and interpretation. In debate events, competitors are assigned to either affirm or negate a statement against a opponent assigned the opposite side. Debaters are judged primarily by their argumentation, though speaking is also an important factor.
